About the Event

This class is an introduction to silversmithing.

This class is an introduction to silversmithing. Students will learn the most basic foundations of silversmithing. Students will be making three sterling silver stacker rings to take home. The class will teach you how to size your finger, cut your silver from a 12" long piece of round sterling silver wire for your rings. Students will learn how to anneal their silver, and how to file the wire for soldering. Students will also learn the basics for using a handheld torch. Finally, students will learn how to hammer their rings to their liking and polish them.

Silversmithing is a fun and unique art, and has many mentally therapeutic benefits. This class is meant to help the student have fun, learn to relax,  and create beautiful pieces of art. The student is encouraged to bring their own music and earphones for the best experience.

The instructor will provide the class with a list of the equipment and supplies used in the class

so the student can start creating at home on their own if they choose.

Instructor: Emily Apodaca
